About:
The Goddess Rising Scholarship for Young Women is an $1000.00 scholarship generated from the donations of the 5th Annual International Women’s Day Event Goddess Rising. Held on March 11th 2017 at the Fernie Community Centre, the event profits will be used to award one young woman from the Elk Valley with the scholarship money. (Additional scholarships may be awarded if the event generates additional prize money) In the past Goddess Rising Organizers Rachel Cline & Tanya Malcolm have donated the event profits to various local organizations & international organizations that support women. In 2015 they decided to create a scholarship to support a young woman in pursuit of higher education.

Deadline: March 11th 2017
Requirements for Eligibility:
- Student must be a young woman in Grade 12.
- Applications will be accepted by young women from the following communities: Elkford, Sparwood, Fernie, Grasmere, Jaffray.
- Student must plan to attend post secondary education the semester following her high school graduation.
- Student must submit a completed application form in person at Goddess Rising on March 11th, 2017
Goddess Rising Scholarship for Young Women Application Instructions
1. Check Eligibility Requirements
2. Start application (BELOW) by downloading the document and completing the information and questions in digital format. Then print your completed application and attend Goddess Rising on March 11th 2017 between 9:00 and 4:00 at the Fernie Community Centre - HWY 3 & 9th Street to submit application.
(Applications will only be accepted at the Goddess Rising Women’s Day event)
Award:
The scholarship winner will be announced and contacted on March 31st, 2017. The winner will receive her award following the announcement. Scholarship money will be awarded upon proof of the winner’s enrolment in her post-secondary education institution.
